Elma Area Wellness Center

The Elma Area Wellness Center (EAWC) is a non-profit community fitness center, which was a project of the Young Professionals Group in Elma.  The YP Group began with a "dream" in the spring of 2012 and the EAWC became reality later that year through the sweat & tears of many community volunteers and your donations, opening the doors in late January 2013.

The EAWC is open 24 hours/day, 7 days/week utilizing an electronic key card access to members/users.  Our current seven-member board of directors are Jamie Gansen-President,  Brad Shatek-Treasurer, Erin Ludwig-Secretary, Pastor Ryan McDermott, Joan Mitchell, Adam Roethler and Ann O'Brien.  As a non-profit entity, the building is not staffed but is monitored with security equipment and a core of EAWC volunteers are available by appointment to help you with membership registration and/or equipment orientation.  We offer single, 2-person or 3+person memberships which begin at $25/month (plus tax) as well as day passes at $5.35 or a 10-use pass at $42.80.""

The building is split into two sides; through our classroom side we offer a wide variety of class offerings including Zumba, Yoga, Cardio Blast, Spinning, Mind & Body Tone Up, and Kids Kraze as well as room & equipment including Wii-Fit system/TV-DVD  and a growing library of exercise dvd's for you to create your own fitness routines with family or friends. For sale on this side of the building are bottles of water, yoga mats, earphones and soon will be available EAWC t-shirts and other items.

Our equipment side has several treadmills, elliptical machines, Octane (recumbent bike) machines, weight benches, Smith bench press system, a crossover cable multi-use weight apparatus, free weights, stretching station, and a whole separate room of 10 hydraulic resistant weight pieces of equipment for circuit training with instructional/musical cd's to help you through the workout routine. We have three digital TV screens in the cardio equipment area, where members may bring their headphones to plug into the machines and view their favorite programs while working out.  Unique to our center, we offer a 3-person dry spa available for member's use free of charge!  Also on the equipment side is a large, handicap-accessible restroom/changing area and a second restroom with shower is in the making Lockers are provided on a first come/first serve basis while using the facility (bring your own padlocks) and coat rack/shoe changing area are in the front of each side to change out of your street shoes before going further into the center.

To view the EAWC, sign up for membership, or schedule an orientation, please leave a message with your name & phone number at 641-393-0062 or by e-mail at elmawellness@hotmail.com
