The Elma Early Childhood Center (EECC) is a non-profit center that provides children with a warm, nurturing environment in which they can learn and develop to their fullest potential. We believe that providing the best care for your child involves a partnership between parents and staff. Our goal is to offer a quality environment with learning opportunities that allow each child to develop socially, physically, and intellectually at their own pace. We provide a positive, fun, and safe place for your child to learn and grow.

Our current capacity allows for 10 infants from ages 6 weeks to 24 months and 24 toddlers from ages 2 years old to 12 years old. With the current daycare addition which is underway, our capacities will increase to 16 infants. We anticipate this building addition to be completed by the summer of 2022.

The EECC complies with Iowa rules for ratios of children to staff members. They are:

  • Children under 24 month of age   |   1 staff member for every 4 children
  • Children 2 years of age   |   1 staff member for every 6 children
  • Children 3 years of age   |   1 staff member for every 8 children
  • Children 4 years of age   |   1 staff member for every 12 children
  • Children 5+ years of age (school age)   |   1 staff member for every 15 children

The toddler room ratio is always maintained according to the youngest child.

The Elma Early Childhood Center provides a 3-year old preschool program. Daycare is available before and after the program if needed. Staff members escort children to and from preschool and work together to provide safe and convenient learning environments throughout your child’s day.

The EECC is open from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. Opening and closing hours may be subject to change, depending on children’s schedules.

The EECC uses Procare Solutions software to communicate with parents, document activities, and for billing purposes. Billing is every two weeks and covers the services for the previous two weeks. Each child’s fee is based on their age and number of hours per week. Families with more than one child will receive a rate reduction for each additional child. Breakfast and snacks are included in the hourly fee. Each child who receives a lunch from the center will be charged the current lunch rate.
