Blue Bird Tavern is locally owned by father-daughter duo, Dan and Mayson Wacha. Dan grew up just outside of Elma and attended high school in Cresco. Shortly after graduating, Dan married his wife Marni and started a family. They soon decided to move to Cedar Rapids to raise their three kids. After growing up in Cedar Rapids, Mayson moved to Nashville, Tennessee and spent the last few years exploring Music City. Tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city she decided to join her parents back in Elma and enjoy all the perks of small-town living. Dan and Mayson are excited to be the new owners of the the Blue Bird with their main focus on creating great food, a great atmosphere, and great memories with the great people of their hometown, all while preserving the history of the original Blue Bird. Stop in to meet Mayson and Dan well as several part-time wait staff ready to serve your beverage or dining needs!

Currently the establishment is up for sale as Mayson explores other career opportunities. The Blue Bird will be open through June 29th and pending new owners, will close their doors. Until then, Enjoy the fine menu options shown below Thursday, Friday & Saturdays.
