FIRE PROTECTION: The Elma area is served by the Elma Fire & Rescue Organization, Inc. This volunteer force of men & women is based at 107 Orchard Street in Elma (across the street southwest of the water tower). Besides the expected fire protection services including business or structure fires automobile accidents, and controlled burns, Elma Fire & Rescue aids the community by conducting emergency pre-planning with area businesses and helping with area traffic control for events. Additionally, they host the kid's water ball challenge at Elma Trail Days festivities, host the annual kid's Halloween Costume Party and hold an annual Halloween Masquerade Dance fundraiser.
