When did the business open/begin: In 1998, James Hoover started concreting with Elvin & Dan. This is where the name “JED” comes from. Later, James took over the business. Today his son, Shannon is taking on the concrete construction while James expands the Rock & Sand business where they recycle concrete and operate the Nashua & Elma quarry

Something that might surprise customers about your business: JED specializes in large commercial projects where traveling may be necessary. We have multiple crews to take on jobs such as grain bin foundations, flatwork, shop and home foundations, walls, and parking lots or floors.
Why did you locate in Elma and what do you like about being in Elma? James & his wife MaryJane moved to Elma from Pennsylvania with their family. Starting in the area without transportation, they made Elma their home
