Final Funds to Complete the Elma Community Complex

A large, single-story industrial building is seen from across the street. The building is cream-colored with a metal exterior and has a small fenced-in area to the left, possibly a playground. The sky is clear, indicating either early morning or late evening.

The Elma Community Complex project is close to wrapping up the project but is asking for financial help one last time to help finish the project.

This fall a fence was installed around the playground, landscaping was started, and new gutters were installed.  Remaining items to be completed are: adding playground equipment for the day care, landscaping, adding interior and exterior signage, remodeling the bathrooms, and completing our donor wall. We estimate another $25,000 will finish the project.

To date over $1,300,000 has been raised through private donations, grants, and fundraisers. The committee continues to seek out grant and donation opportunities.  Recent grants received include Tossed & Found Grant for gutters and Howard County Community Foundation grant for signage.

All sized gifts are welcomed and appreciated and can include cash, grain, or direct distribution from your IRA.  For more information please contact Shannon Gebel, Elma City Clerk, at 641-393-2543 or elmacityclerk@gmail.com.  Donations can be mailed to Elma Community Complex, City of Elma, PO Box 497, Elma IA 50628.
