Two current projects underway in Elma:
1. The Emergency Services Building project: providing additional space onto the current fire station to accommodate an ambulance, fully staffed 24/7 via Regional Health Services of Howard County and a larger/longer space to accommodate newer sized fire fighting vehicles in the future. 2. Elma Community Complex Project: re-purposing the former Elma Elementary School building & grounds into a hub of community services. This project has been done in phases as the donations/grants have allowed. They have completed the first three phases, with the new community room open & available as well as the Elma Medical Clinic up and running on Busti Avenue (site changed when it was discovered the former school was in a flood plain many years ago). The final phases, moving the library into the remodeled gymnasium, an addition onto the childcare center/preschool, re-mounting the former school murals and landscaping/parking lot are underway.
