December 2020 Progress Update

Exterior view of Elma Medical Clinic with a sign in front displaying

The Elma Community Complex committee is pleased with the progress of the project. The medical clinic is built and Regional Health Services of Howard County is awaiting approval from Medicare before they can begin offering services in Elma. The next phase of the project is re-purposing a portion of the former elementary gymnasium into a City Clerk’s office & multi-purpose community room along with bathroom renovations. This phase is expected to begin soon.

The committee would like you to remember the ECC Project as you plan your year-end charitable giving with a reminder of ways to compound your giving impact by taking advantage of matching fund contributions to the ECC:

  1. A pledge by Joe & Kathy Whitinger’s for an additional $50,000 contribution with matching funds raised by January 15, 2021
  2. A pledge by Bruce & Callie Weigel of an additional $25,000 in memory of Bill & Marlene Weigel with matching funds raised by January 15, 2021
  3. A pledge by Peoples Savings Bank of another $10,000 with matching funds raised by January 15, 2021
  4. A pledge by The BRIDGE Organization of an additional $10,000 with matching funds raised by January 15, 2021

These are all great opportunities for people to enhance the impact of their donations and a great opportunity to continue with the progress of the ECC Project. As of December 11, 2020 a total of $693,120.00 has been committed to the ECC project. The estimated cost of the total project is $1.2 million dollars.
